Vontas Welcomes Mandee Steele as Senior Director, Business Development and Sales Operations

Vontas announced that Mandee Steele has joined the company as Senior Director, Business Development and Sales Operations. In this role, she will oversee sales operations strategy, supporting the sales organization with the processes, insights, and operational structure needed to drive continued growth and deliver value to transit agencies across North America.

Steele brings extensive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, and operational leadership within the transportation and infrastructure sectors. She has a strong track record of working in complex stakeholder environments and helping organizations align strategy with execution to achieve measurable results.

Prior to joining Vontas, Steele served as Vice President of Business Development at Transdev, where she led national and global business development initiatives and managed key client relationships across transit operations, maintenance, and infrastructure programs. During her tenure, she helped secure more than $160 million in contract value through new and renewal business opportunities while leading cross-functional initiatives across multiple transportation modes.

Earlier in her career, Steele held senior roles with organizations including RATP Dev USA and the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority, where she focused on business development, government relations, stakeholder engagement, and strategic partnerships. Her work across both the public and private sectors has centered on strengthening relationships between transit agencies, industry partners, and communities while advancing innovative transportation solutions.

“Mandee brings a unique combination of strategic thinking, industry knowledge, and operational focus,” said Richard Blackburn, General Manager of Vontas. “Her experience working across transit operations, government stakeholders, and large-scale transportation programs will be a strong asset as we continue to scale our sales organization and support our customers.”

Steele is an active member of several transportation industry organizations, including the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO).

“I’m excited to join Vontas and contribute to a team that is focused on delivering technology that improves public transportation and the rider experience,” said Steele. “I look forward to supporting the sales organization and helping build the operational foundation that enables continued growth and strong customer partnerships.”
