As we bid farewell to another eventful year, we wanted to spend some time to reminisce at the impact we made in 2023 and look ahead at all that 2024 has in store.

A Look Back at 2023
Acquisition of Orion Labs
December 11, 2023
Vontas acquired Orion Labs, a voice-first collaboration platform, expanding the Vontas OnTransit solution with a communications module for a constant flow of information and real-time situational awareness. With this acquisition, Vontas adds a module that helps transit agencies easily make individual, group, and fleetwide calls ensuring a critical layer to a fail-safe environment. Voice and data redundancy improves communication abilities and keeps lines open for mission-critical systems during unpredictable situations. In the future, Vontas plans to seamlessly integrate Orion products into the Vontas OnRoute module for computer-aided dispatch and automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL).
2023 APTA TRANSform Conference & Expo
Oct. 8-11, 2023, Orlando, Florida
At the largest public transportation event in North America, Vontas focused on the theme of Connected Communities, where transit helps create vibrant communities for agencies and riders. Expo attendees engaged with Vontas OnTransit modules; OnRoute CAD/AVL, OnSite for Yard Management, and innovation in ITS for Zero Emission Vehicles, Device Management, and more. CEO Paul Comfort also hosted a New CEO Panel for his podcast in the Vontas

ThinkTransit
April 2-5, 2023, Nashville, Tennessee
ThinkTransit 2023 was the largest the event has ever been, with more than 500 attendees from across North America. The week started with a warm welcome from Nashville MTA and WeGo Board Chair Gail Carr Williams. From then on, transit leaders came together to tackle the tough questions in the industry through keynotes, product showcases, a Transit Unplugged
Live CEO Roundtable, and numerous learning sessions.
Open API Integration with Vontas, Swiftly, and Transit
November, 2023
This year, Vontas, Swiftly, and Transit—leaders in modern transit agency solutions—joined forces with a new integration that allows information to flow seamlessly between the three platforms. This end-to-end flow of information enhances staff efficiency and the rider experience by delivering highly accurate, real-time data seamlessly between a transit agency’s critical vendors.
